Volkswagen’s highly anticipated release, the Tiguan R Line, is set to hit the Indian market on April 14th. This top-of-the-line variant of the latest-gen Tiguan will be making its way here as a full import, with an estimated price tag of around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The R Line version boasts a sportier exterior and interior design, featuring elements like front and rear bumpers, a rear spoiler, and side panels unique to the R Line spec. Additionally, it showcases full-width horizontal LED light strips at the front and rear, along with larger 19-inch alloy wheels. The new Tiguan also sees a 30mm increase in length compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same wheelbase.

Inside the Tiguan R Line, you’ll find exclusive sports seats and an ambient lighting package with three light zones and an impressive 30 color options. Notable features include a 10.3-inch digital instrument display and a 12.9-inch central touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard exudes a clean, upscale look, and the infotainment systems are powered by VW’s latest MIB4 software platform, capable of receiving over-the-air updates.

Under the hood, the India-spec Tiguan R Line is expected to house a 265hp, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. While globally, the Tiguan R Line offers a variety of hybrid options, including mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrids, India is likely to receive the turbo-petrol variant exclusively.

The current Tiguan is priced at Rs 38.17 lakh (ex-showroom, India), but the next-generation R Line model is expected to come with a significant price hike due to its upgraded features and specifications.
