The surge of phishing attacks targeting various sectors in Europe has prompted COcyber to organize the groundbreaking event, the AI Cybersecurity Deephack: Advancing European Defence Capabilities, slated for April 24-26, 2025. This online initiative aims to unite startups, SMEs, corporations, public-sector tech teams, cybersecurity experts, and university students to create AI-driven solutions that can identify and prevent phishing attacks in real-time, thereby bolstering Europe’s cybersecurity defenses.
Participants will be tasked with utilizing NLP, anomaly detection, and threat intelligence to craft AI systems that proactively thwart phishing attempts. The solutions must be adaptable for deployment in secure defense networks as well as civilian systems, addressing challenges like AI bias, latency issues, dual-use risks, data protection, and resilience against adversarial AI.
The event will feature daily progress assessments, mentorship sessions, pitch training, and final presentations judged by a panel of experts. Winning teams stand to gain exposure within the COcyber community, personalized mentorship, and access to support programs like the EIT Digital Speed Master course and accelerated growth opportunities.
In the words of Alessandra Zini, the project lead at EIT Digital, “Europe’s ability to respond effectively to evolving threats hinges on research and innovation in dual-use cybersecurity applications. Through this deephack, we aim to identify forward-thinking innovators capable of fortifying both civilian and defense sectors, thus enhancing the EU’s security autonomy, a key area of focus for funding.”
To kickstart the journey towards the deephack, COcyber and Ultrahack will host a pre-deephack webinar on April 2nd via Zoom. This informational session will outline the event’s objectives, technical expectations, and provide a platform for participants to interact with the organizing team and partners. Whether prospective applicants are already enrolled or contemplating joining, the webinar intends to offer valuable insights into navigating the challenge and its dual-use implications.
Those interested in partaking in this innovative deephack are urged to apply promptly and secure their spot by registering for the pre-deephack webinar. Embrace this opportunity to contribute to Europe’s cybersecurity resilience and propel the continent towards strategic security autonomy.
