In a recent high-level review meeting led by Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, innovative strategies to support Deep-tech StartUps were discussed. The focus was on transforming existing technology innovation hubs into Technology Translation Research Parks to foster partnerships between academia and industry.
The meeting highlighted India’s advancements in key technology sectors, such as hydrogen energy, quantum computing, and technology innovation hubs. Of particular interest was the National Green Hydrogen Mission, where the Department of Science and Technology (DST) will play a crucial role in implementation.
Dr. Jitendra Singh stressed the importance of collaboration with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy to ensure smooth execution and alignment of policies. The Minister also took stock of progress under the National Quantum Mission, which has established quantum technology hubs at various prestigious institutes across the country.
The discussions also touched upon international collaborations in science and technology, with a focus on strengthening research cooperation with global partners. Notable among these engagements is India’s upcoming participation as an associate member in the EU’s Horizon research program, subject to final negotiations.
The Government’s commitment to driving technology-driven solutions and fostering opportunities for Indian scientists and entrepreneurs was reiterated. The meeting concluded with a directive to expedite key projects and maintain India’s momentum in scientific and technological growth, reflecting a proactive approach towards innovation and growth.
